About school
“AVRAM IANCU” SCHOOL is located in the southeastern part of TURDA municipality,. in a quiet neighborhood called OPRIŞANI neighborhood (Micro I area). Until 1996 it was called SCHOOL NO. 6 TURDA, and since June 1996 it has been called “AVRAM IANCU” SCHOOL. The first attestation of the village dates from 1322 with the name of KERESTEŞ. The first document of the existence of education in Cristiş commune dates from 1848 from the baptismal register for 1848, when the priest - teacher was VASILE RUS, so the school functioned under the leadership of the priest.
